Location: Lower Town Ottawa, ON
Client Request: Updated fence with new wood front and back steps to replace the existing old, unstable fence and decayed wood front steps and cement back steps.
Challenge: To build two sets of steps and an ornamented privacy fence while meeting both, a restricted budget and shortened timeline.
Results:
- Client selected lowest cost material to help meet limited budget
- Pine fence constructed with pressure treated wood
- Oil-based sealant was applied to fence and steps to significantly reduce (90%) preservatives from escaping
- Backyard fence area: 20’ x 20’ (three sides) plus gate
Healthy Steps: Used materials removed were donated to “Re-Store” (a Habitat for Humanity subsidiary).
